Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) takes on a slightly different approach to therapy, compared to the more traditional problem-focused treatment options. What I love about this type of intervention is that it puts you in charge and allows me to work alongside you in true collaborative fashion. This is a therapeutic process that moves us from your identified problem directly to your goals, and then allows us to co-construct a solution.
We will search together to discover alternative ways of living, and figure out times in your life that certain behaviors have worked for you, and not against you. We will work under the assumption that the solution behaviors already exist within you. With this assumption, it’ll be my task to assist you in discovering what those behaviors are and how to increase them in your day to day life.
This approach will help you prioritize your needs, recognize your strengths, and to give you the space to know you have the ability to build upon what works. Change is absolutely possible. I would be honored to explore that possibility with you and sit beside you during this journey.
